Smells, perfumes, scents, fragrances - they remind us of a lot of things. I still remember the time when I was a gawky teenager, who had a crush on her neighbor, who was in college that time. He was handsome, sporty and intelligent, and I, propelled by my adolescence hormones, was attracted to him like a moth to a flame. Although with age and time, I did forget about him eventually, but whenever I smell a citrus cologne or perfume, I go back my memory lane. So all you men reading this article, remember, that your smell, perfumes, colognes lend a kind of personality to you. They are something people remember you by, or identify you by, thus, making it super important for you, to apply cologne properly.
Tips on How to Apply Cologne for Men
Keep it Subtle
Cologne should be applied in such a way that it keeps you smelling fresh throughout the day. This in no way means that you spray half of the bottle on yourself, and leave a lingering smell of cologne at all the places you visit. As is said, excess of everything is bad, the same rule applies to cologne too. Thus, proper way to apply cologne is to keep it subtle. In order to apply cologne, spray it in appropriate quantity. Remember the rule "Three sprays per application".
Application on Particular Body Areas
If you ask me how to apply cologne that it lasts throughout the day, I would suggest apply the cologne on the body areas which generate higher quantities of heat. Application of cologne in such body areas will make sure that the cologne emanates slowly from morning till evening. So, the best way to apply cologne, is to spray or apply it on the insides of the wrists, back of the ears, chest, thighs and back.
Let the Cologne Settle
Often men ask,"how to apply cologne?" as they find that after applying cologne, it does not smell the same as in the bottle. Do you want to know the reason behind this? Well, apparently, when most of the men apply cologne, especially the ones which come with a cap opening bottle, they end up rubbing the cologne on the skin. This changes the smell of the cologne, as it does not get time to settle in the skin. Thus, when applying cologne, do not rub the skin, so that cologne has time to sit and settle on it.
